GRAACTF/MBEI respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it by complying with this Privacy Policy.

2. Definitions

“GRAACTF/MBEI,” “we,” “us,” and “our” (whether or not capitalized) refer to Grand Rapids African American Community Task Force in association with Michigan Black Expo, Inc.

“Policy” means this Privacy Policy.

“Website” means the webpages and other web-accessible resources hosted at EquityStories.us.

“Terms of Use” means the Terms of Use located at https://equitystories.us/terms.

“User Contribution” means any content you submit to us on or through the Website such as, but not limited to, personal narratives, stories, articles, and commentary.

This Privacy Policy describes the types of information that we may collect from you or that you may share with us when you visit the Website. It also describes our practices for collecting, using, and disclosing such information. This Privacy Policy applies to information that we collect or that you share with us on or through the Website. It does not apply to information collected (a) by any means other than the Website; (b) by any third party, including affiliates and advertisers accessible from the Website; or (c) by any other website, whether operated by GRAACTF/MBEI or a third party.

4. Effect

Consent. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to ensure that you understand our policies and practices regarding your information; if you do not agree, you must not use the Website. By accessing or using the Website, you consent to our policies and practices as set forth in this Policy.

Consent to Changes. We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make changes to this Policy, we will notify you by updating the Last-Modified date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Website after we make changes to this Policy means that you consent to the changes. Therefore, please check back periodically for updates.

5. Children Under the Age of 13

The Website is not for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, you must not provide any information to us on or through the Website or by any other means. If we learn that we have received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. Information We Collect When You Provide It to Us. We collect information when you provide it to us, such as when you submit a User Contribution, enter a contest on the Website, report a problem to us, correspond with us, or fill in a form on the Website. We collect the following information when you provide it: (a) personally-identifying information, for example, your name, e-mail address, postal address, telephone number, and other information by which you may be identified; (b) information that does not identify you personally, for example, your city, state, country, comments, and questions; (c) the body and metadata (such as your address) of any correspondence you send to us; and (d) details of any order you place or donation you make through the Website and the financial information needed to process it.

Information We Collect Automatically. We may automatically collect information about you as you navigate through and interact with the Website, including: (a) details about your use of the Website, such as the pages and features you access on the Website; (b) details about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type; and (c) records of your search queries on the Website. Information that we collect automatically may include personal information, or we may supplement it with personal information obtained from third parties. Such information helps us understand usage patterns and improve the Website.

9. Disclosure of Your Information

De-identified Information. We may disclose de-identified information without restriction.

Identifying Information. We may disclose your personal information as follows: (a) to our subsidiaries and affiliates; (b) to third parties we engage to operate and support our business; (c) to fulfill any purpose for which you have provided the information (for example, to communicate with you about a User Contribution); (d) for any purpose that we specify when we collect the information; (e) if we believe that disclosure is necessary for the personal safety of any individual or to protect the rights or property of any person or entity; (f) to enforce any agreement between you and us, including the Terms of Use; (g) to comply with any court order, applicable law, legal process, or respond to any government or regulatory request; (h) to a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of GRAACTF/MBEI’s assets, whether as a going concern or in the course of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by GRAACTF/MBEI about Website users is among the assets transferred; or (i) with your express consent.

Publication. If you submit a User Contribution, we may post it on the Website or otherwise make it available to the general public in whole or in part at our discretion. Unless you request that we publish it anonymously, we may also publish information regarding authorship. If you desire to remain anonymous, beware of inadvertently disclosing personally-identifying information or information regarding authorship within the body of your User Contribution because any portion that we choose to publish will be available to the general public.

10. Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

Corrections. To review or correct any personal information that you have provided to us, or to make any other request regarding your personal information, please contact us at contact@equitystories.us. We reserve the right to deny a request if we believe that compliance would (a) cause the information to be incorrect, (b) violate any applicable law, or (c) conflict with our rights under applicable law.

Promotional Offers from GRAACTF/MBEI. If you do not wish to receive promotional offers from us, you can opt-out by emailing a request to us at contact@equitystories.us. (This opt out will not apply to non-promotional communication, such as a request for information about a User Contribution.)

Promotional Offers from Third Parties. We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information. Third parties may provide you with ways to opt out from having your information collected or used for advertising purposes. You can opt out of targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) on the NAI website at http://www.networkadvertising.org/.

11. Data Security

We endeavor to appropriately secure your personal information from accidental loss and unauthorized access. However, you acknowledge that internet communication and computing infrastructure is inherently vulnerable and that we cannot guarantee data security. If you choose to transmit personal information to us, you do so at your own risk.
